Based on my extensive research of people looking for headshot photos in London, exactly 95.3% of people consider having the headshot photo taken to be similar on the pleasure scale to root canal surgery.
When the thought of getting a new headshot enters their mind, these people briefly look at a few photographers websites and see portrait photos of intense looking people with glowing skin and burning stares.
Scarred by this bruising experience, they decide that they can put up with their existing profile picture for another few months.
Old Photos Need Updating
Until eventually it becomes obvious that they no longer look like they did at their friend’s wedding 8 years ago and that the grainy photo they are using is not exactly giving the right impression.
So, again they set out on the process of booking a new LinkedIn headshot photo in London, and they look for a photographer that they feel comfortable with.
Nearly everyone I take photos of has a similar experience to this. But I am pleased to say that all of those people end the session feeling that it was an enjoyable experience that was nowhere near as bad as they expected it to be. And that their new headshots are not so bad after all, even if they do now look a bit more like their mum or dad. (“Oh my god, I look like my mum / dad” is what you will say if you leave it too long before you update your profile picture.)
Don’t leave it too long before you have your profile picture updates, other wise people won’t recognise you when you show up for a meeting.
Headshot Photos In London You’ll Be Happy With
I don’t do overly retouched, intense looking headshot photos. I do natural looking shots, that make you look happy, relaxed, confident and like a really good version of yourself. Usually people need headshots to update their online presence, get a new job or for their website and social media.
We can do all of these things, and I’ll help you get images that you are really pleased with, even if you don’t have chiseled cheekbones and bright blue eyes.
How To Prepare For A Headshot Photo Session
- Hair – have a haircut at the optimum number of days before your session. Trim any unwanted facial hair if you have it, and ensure your beard is the optimum length (if you have one) .
- Make Up – keep it simple, don’t overdo it, think about shin reduction mainly.
- Clothes – for business headshots, wear whatever you would for an interview of meeting, that could be smart or casual depending on your role. Bring a change or two so we can try a few looks.
- Attitude – try to bring a positive attitude to the shoot, that way you’ll get better results.
