I get asked this a lot, usually by a marketing manager, PA or office manager who’s been asked to research getting some new headshots, and is now trying to work out what that actually means in terms of budget.

What Corporate Headshots Typically Cost in London
In London, professional corporate headshots tend to cost somewhere between £275 and £1,050, depending on:
- How many people need to be photographed (it’s more cost effective to do more people)
- Number of edited images required
- What level of variety or consistency is required
- Any additional kit required
What You’re Actually Paying For
Usually the fee covers other things than just the shoot. Corporate headshot pricing includes:
Experience
Photographing a senior partner at a law firm is not the same as photographing a friend. I’ll manage time pressure, expectations and multiple personality types. You need the headshots to make someone to look confident and credible in minutes and that’s what I do, included in the cost of the headshots!
You’ll pay more for an experienced photographer than a less experienced one.
Lighting and Setup
When I photograph in offices in London, I bring lighting, modifiers and backgrounds if needed. The aim is to create a consistent, controlled look regardless of the room I’m given.
So, you’re also paying for all of that kit, plus the time it takes to get it ready for your shoot and transport it to and from your location.
Time
You’re paying for my time. I can do a headshot very quickly and get results fast, so in a way you might actually pay a bit more to get quicker job done than paying less for someone to be there for ages to faff around. Really, you don’t pay for time, you pay for a job done efficiently.
For team sessions, you’re also paying for organisation and keeping the day moving so the office isn’t disrupted.
Editing
Every final image is processed properly e.g. colour balanced, cropped, perfected. Retouched enough to be clean and credible.
Post-production time is built into the fee.
Editing also includes sending you a gallery to choose form and an efficient process to help you choose the best photos.
Systems, back-up, overheads
There are overheads – insurance, Adobe subscriptions, back up, online gallery and lots of stuff done in teh background that add up.
You can find very cheap headshots. Often they’re quick studio conveyor-belt sessions. That might be fine if you only need something basic.
But most of the firms I work with aren’t looking for cheap. They’re looking for:
- Consistency across a team
- Images that look good on a website
- Photos that work for proposals and LinkedIn
- A process that is easy and strightforward
