How To Get Good Photos Of Company Events

Good photos of company events is something event planners and organisers need when they plan events.

Remembering to get good photos of networking events helps because it means that you will have lots of content to post on social media (LinkedIn for the corporate networking events). This content enables you to show how many people were at the event and that makes it easier to attract people to your next company event, especially if you can make it look like everyone was having a great time and the venue, food and drinks were lovely.

Using a dedicated event photographer to shoot your event is a potentially good idea. They will have camera equipment and lenses that create high quality photos. They will have experience of how to anticipate and capture the best shots, and they will be dedicated to getting photos throughout the event, rather than it being an afterthought for you and your team. The photographer will also edit the photos and have them ready for you in quick time so it’s another job off your to do list.

Here are some examples of good company event photos taken at one evening event that I photographed for a law firm.

1. Photos of people having a great time at the event

Great events mean lots of people having a good time.

I like to take lots of photos of the interactions between people to show how much networking went on. I also like to get candid photos of people laughing, smiling & concentrating so that people can feel what it was like to be at the event.

2. The event venue looking busy

One of the key success measures of your event will be the number of people who attended, so you need to show how busy the event was. This proves that the event was a worthwhile investment and it enables you to show future potential attendees how good your events are.

I like to take lots of images that make events look busy, like this one:

3. Details of the delicious food and drink

People love good food and drinks, so make sure you show it off. Again, it’s another reason for more people to come next time. Especially if you have invested in branding some of your offering, make sure you capture it.

Here’s an example of one of my shots of the drinks at an event with branding. Who wouldn’t want to drink that?

4. Pictures of the venue looking amazing

Some event venues are just stunning. They have fantastic rooms, and sometimes the place amazing views. Make sure you capture it.

Even if the venue you are using is not so flashy, good photos will ensure the best bits are captured whilst not showing the bad bits. It’s about what you include and don’t include in the photos!

One of my shots of the attendees enjoying the view from Duck and Waffle during a company event:
